NaRhee Ahn is a Korean American female filmmaker committed to raising the representation of Asian Americans in the media. After graduating from Columbia University Graduate Film Division, her shorts A SON FOR SENSEI and UNDER:ELEGY, which was broadcast on AZN Network, toured the Asian American film festival circuit. Her feature debut as a writer/director was PURITY, which was screened at festivals and won awards for its soundtrack by composer George Shaw and for actress Jae Suh. Ms. Ahn has spoken on being a woman director of color at Brown, Columbia and New York Universities, The City University of New York, The Asia Society and Museum and on the show Asian America (PBS) and is a board member of The Columbia University Entertainment group. She has just completed THE RIOT CLUB, a horror film about the aftermath of the Rodney King riots, set in Los Angeles’ Koreatown and is writing her first comedy, THE BEIJING BOYS about the most famous boy band that you’ve never heard of!
